EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR / DIRECTOR OF TRAINING
I have been regarded as one of the foremost experts in the country today in canine encounters and less lethal technology towards animals. I have trained officers throughout the United States at the Local, State and Federal levels of Law Enforcement, Animal Control and various other Public Safety officials.
I have worked in the field of Public Safety since 1979; I've had titles such as Certified Animal Control Officer, Certified Animal Cruelty Investigator, Deputy Marshall, Emergency Medical Technician, Firefighter, Humane Law Enforcement Officer, Inspector, Investigator, Police Dispatcher and Special Deputy Sheriff.
I've written several articles and also two books, “Surviving the Canine Encounters” and “A Guidebook to Investigating Animal Cruelty”, I'm also working on my third book, “Hand to Paw Combat”. I've also been called in as an Expert Witness for various cities, county, state and federal government agencies. I received several recognitions from various agencies in my assistance for such incidents during the September 11, 2001 attacks of the World Trade Center in New York City, Florida Hurricanes in 2004, Hurricane Katrina in 2005, California Wildfires in 2016, Hurricane Harvey in 2017 and Hurricane Florence in 2018.
JI served in the United States Army, receiving my Honorable Discharge in 1986. In 2000 I received a Certificate of Recognition from the Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen for my service during the period of the Cold War (2 September 1945 – 26 December 1991) in promoting peace and stability for the United States. I'm a member of the National Disaster Animal Response Team, National Illegal Animal Fighting Task Force, National Dangerous Animal Task Force, International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training, National Search Dog Alliance, International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association and the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Canine Encounter Training Committee.
My training methods have been accredited by numerous law enforcement agencies across the United States. Many of these departments and associations have rated my training methods number #1 for all law enforcement officers across the United States.
